Array ( [sid] => 3897 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => sit and think [time] => 2002-09-16 10:40:15 [hometext] => It's not really a poem more of a thought. [bodytext] => Have you ever thought of ending your life? Have you ever thought who would miss you? Who would cry? Who would show up at your funeral? What would you do if you could see yourself die and see the ones who cared die with you? Did you really pay any attention to the little nerd that made sure all your work was done? Did you ever acknowledge the friend that you had in high school that stood there by your side no matter what went on? Did you even think what happened to her after you didn’t need her anymore? How inconsiderate were you? How selfish were you in your lifetime? Did you ever write back to that one friend who left and sent you a letter faithful every week praying that one-day you would write back? Did you remember the old guy down the block that picked you up when you fell of your bike? Did you remember the teacher that rubbed you on your back and had faith that you could do it even though you thought it was hopeless? Did you ever think of that one guy who followed you around and did absolutely everything for you? That told you “I love you” everyday hoping one day you would say it back to him and actually mean it and all you ever did was say hello or good-bye. Did you remember any of these people? They all remembered you. They all wanted to be part of your life. They saw something far greater then you would ever see. They saw you for who you are and not what you wanted to be. And now you stand there watching them all crying by your grave. And the only thing you ever gave them was a memory of what they thought you to be. And what they hoped one day they too would be a part of. I know this was to a friend...but as I read it, I felt it tugging at me. Yes I have thought those things before. We all do at some point. Its natural just like many other things that are branded "weird" or "strange".
