When my days were brighter
I’d actually have a pleasant rhyme
I didn’t worry about being lighter

Life was as easy as a snap
I had many carefree ways
Something’s wrong? Sit on mom’s lap.
The best times were birthdays

Now that times are changing constantly
And I start to have more fears
I start to wonder about honesty
If when I talk anyone hears.

People start to judge
And care how they look
People start to push instead of nudge
You don’t get a toy, instead a book

Take me back to then
I could live my life freely
I can remember when
I didn’t want people to look at me

Maybe I was wrong
Times haven’t changed a lot
My life is like a song
That isn’t being bought

I don’t have a story to tell
That would be worth listening to
If I do something wrong people yell
And feelings become untrue

The lies are spoken everyday
Even when nothing is said
Nothing can take me to better days
When the sun would shine as I got out of bed

Take me back now please
Before I get hurt again
I hate it when you tease
And say what your doing isn’t a sin.
