A look back

Contributed by bluestar on Monday, 15th March 2004 @ 06:47:19 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

A year later I look back
On that relationship that we had
And now I don’t know why it was so hard to say goodbye

People tried to tell me the person you really were
I never quite believed them
I didn’t understand why you would lie

But I did miss you for a long time
After you told me that our relationship wasn’t right
I cried just about every night

It hurt so much…. more than you’ll ever know
My heart was broken
My appetite gone
But to you I was just another girl
Nothing special, no one to hold on to

But now that it’s been a year I feel so much better
And through all the pain and sorrow
I don’t regret a thing
I learned so much from what you’ve done
And it’ll surely stay with me for relationships to come

You know what they say about hindsight being twenty twenty....

I think it is fantastic that you do not have regrets and are moving on. Lots of strength shone in this poem. I commend you... Kie
