Array ( [sid] => 38738 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Gayatri Mantra [time] => 2004-03-15 14:02:01 [hometext] => see below [bodytext] => Lord Brahma conceived the Gayatri Mantra consisting of 24 letters. Each letter in this mantra has a great potential force, which when released, branches off into four Vedas. To cite a few real world examples of the significance of this mantra, I wish to bring to your knowledge two real world examples.

I fell from the 5th floor of my school building at the age of 11. I were in coma for about 30 days. No doctor believed that I will survive. But the meditation and prayers that I had done previous to my fall using these Gayatri Mantra and Vishnu Sahasranama only had given me a new life. One other example is that in the state of Orissa, in India, after a big earth-quake, only one house in the area survived the tremors. That was because, the inmates daily performed the Gayatri pooja or the recitation of this gayatri mantra.

Herein below I give the entire text, the 24 syllables and their meanings that comprise the Gayatri Mantra. Any body can recite this mantra and get to the full benefits of it.

The original mantra and its full meaning are contained in the Internet site:
http://www.god-promise.com

“OM BHOORBHUVASVA; OM TAT SA VI TUR VA RE NI YAM BHAR GO DE VA SYA DHI MA HI DHI YO YO NAH PRA CHO DA YAT;OM”

The following table gives the 24 syllables and its relation to the power:

1. ‘tat’ - fruitfulness
2. ‘sa’ - valour
3. ‘vi’ - perseverance
4. ‘tur’ _ welfare
5. ‘va’ - yoga
6. ‘re’ - love
7. ‘ni’ - wealth
8. ‘yam’ - lustre
9. ‘bhar’ - protection
10. ‘go’ - wisdom
11. ‘de’ - subjugation
12. ‘va’ - allegiance
13. ‘sya’ - determination
14. ‘dhi’ - life
15. ‘ma’ - time
16. ‘hi’ - penance
17. ‘dhi‘ - forecast
18. ‘yo’ - alertness
19. ‘yo’ - production
20. ‘nah’ - protection
21. ’pra’ - idealism
22. ’cho’ - adventure
23. ’da’ - discrimination
24. ’yat’ - service

Thus these 24 syllables give the person reciting, all the essentials of life as conveyed by their meanings.
