When I find my way back to my home...
I just want to lie down and rest forever...
And seek a place within my own little secret world
Where I can hide... and seek... my own inner peace of mind
And just let the world pass me by...
As I wonder why my heart was broken in two by you...
How can I mend this broken heart?

Maybe we weren't destined to meet...
I'm just sorry now that we sought each other out
And moved on... too quickly... before we got to know each other's heart
We should have stayed just friends...
But the attraction was too strong...
I found myself wanting you... longing to hold you in my arms
Now I'm just longing to know...
How can I mend this broken heart?

These days just keep growing shorter...
As the sleepless nights grow longer
I need to find that place between the paths of right and wrong
To seek the very one who keeps me strong
That thought helps me make it through to another dawn...
As I cling to another lonely day of this life
To meet whatever awaits me on the other side of this long, lonely night
While my mind is seeking to answer the question of my broken heart...

How can I mend this broken heart?
When the one I love has torn it apart?
And has taken the very will to live from my soul
And has thrown it down... trampling it into the ground
Beating it ... bruising it... until almost no life can be found beating from within
How can I mend... this broken heart?
