with mist swirling
all around you.
I can still see
the radiant light
that surrounded
your whole life.
I remember
sadly
standing over your grave
desperatly trying to say
words that meant goodbye.
Family crying on my
shoulders.
I'm sure you saw me
standing tall and strong.
I'm sure you even knew
how badly I wanted to cry.
None came to my eyes
at twelve I had to be a rock.
Something to hold them steady.
Taking your place.
Doing what you had done.
I still love you my dear one
but still have not cried enough
to make up for dry eyes that day.
You are missed the most.
Our anchor,
our rock,
our proud love,
and peacekeeper.
Know that you are still missed.

I love you auntie Jean.

You remind me of when I lost my grandfather.
I was closer to my grandparents than to my own parents, and losing them was monumental. This is a touching tribute.

This was how I felt when my brother died. My mother and sister and aunt needed me to be strong. I was and still am but getting very weak sometimes. My heart goes out to you.

I lost my aunt when I was 10 or 11 it was so hard to stand tall, my aunt was an alcoholic and she got in a car crash killed my 2 baby cousins. one of my cousins survived, but my aunt died in a hospital. I've never gottin over it, she was drunk that night. I miss her so much. try and hang on. I loved the poem. touched my heart in so many ways.

A beautiful tribute to a very special person in your life. My heart goes out to you, how you remain so strong I do not know. She would be proud to know you wrote this for her. You really touched my heart with this poem. Kie
