Passion of Christ

Oh what agony I will endure for thee
Beginning here in sight of Edens tree
I shall take the place of thee
Become a curse for all

I shall accept the wrath of God
Be chastised by sins unmerciful rod
Opening the way men must trod
Unto the throne of grace

I shall humble myself before His will
Carry your burdens up that hill
There my purpose shall fulfill
His unfathomable love

Tis there your debt shall be paid
The eternal gates opened sin forbade
I gladly give my life for trade
For those I love

Now behold this face in agony
Tell me friend what it is you see
Naught but one who chose to be
A savior and a friend

Hang not your heads and cry
Rather raise your voices up on high
Tell every man woman and child that I
Have loved them so

Russ
