--------------------------
Heading down the road to no where,
Speeding at twice the post amount.
Watching as fragments of my life pass,
At speeds too fast to count.

Cutting turns much too swift,
Hitting curves not by design.
Knowing the need to slow down,
But not able to find the time.

Missing scenery once breathtaking,
Afraid to take my hand off the wheel.
When I reach my destination,
Emptiness in my heart is what I feel.

Heading down the road to no where,
Speeding at twice the post sign.
Getting lost in transition,
Cause I haven’t learned to take the time.

I know this is just a metaphor,
For a hurried life of stress.
Once you’ve missed, you can’t get back,
The things in life considered best.
