Is under scrutiny today,
No-matter what is attempted
They simply just won't go away!

Have you ever stopped to think
What work they could be doing,
We swat them, glue them or spray them
Doesn't matter they keep renewing!

Do we really know where they come from?
Or do we just assume,
They hatch out from their maggot shells
To simply buzz around our rooms!

When filters attached to balloons
Do those sweeps across the skies,
On the edge of our atmosphere
They collect a strange surprise!

Houseflies, what are they doing
On the verge of outer-space,
The answer is quite clear
It's staring us in the face!

Probing everything on our Earth
Transmitting their findings back,
To their motherland we can't see
Because it's shrouded in light of black!

Watch them, it's what they're doing
Sticking their tongues where they don't belong,
They're absorbing our information
Thinking we don't know what's going on!

Well uncovered is your little game
You alien little bugs,
Did you think you'd go unnoticed
Did you take us all for mugs!

Looking not like indigenous insects
Grasshopper, Dragon and Butterflies,
If you wish to escape my attention
You'll need a more cunning disguise!

Having influenced our language
From two words 'Space and Flies',
We derive a word that aptly describes
Your probing little house SPIES!

Other folk may scoff at my claims
Don't be silly is what they'll say,
But my findings are here in front of me
And I'll fight you all the way!

I know one of you'll read this
Being able to see someone's screen,
Send this message back to your designer
Your investigation goes no longer unseen! [comments] => 7 [counter] => 206 [topic] => 27 [informant] => Unaekseveer1 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 7 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )

Hey Eileen,
I knew there was a valid excuse other than eight legged, hairy, biting things, Snakes and the Bunyip, why I keep turning down invites from Aussie friends!

Dean, I really like this poem. It made me smile. It is very good. You never know, those flies just might be spies.

Hey Candice,
No doubt about it in my mind, they are spies alien to this planet!
Most creatures here resemble others in some way due to the effects of evolution, but flies just don't fit in!
They're obviously designed to be very cleverly discreet in their appearence, but they're not quite right!! Aliens!!

I'm very pleased this made you smile, it was quite fun to write as I remember and it's made me smile reading it again!
Sorry for being so late in replying!!

With love
Dean:-)

Dean, it is ok about the replaying late. And your replay has made me smile. Which I did kind of need because I've been in a not so good mood lately and I don't know why. Hopefully I will figure it out soon.
