Array ( [sid] => 3831 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Letter To My Brother [time] => 2002-09-14 20:28:56 [hometext] => This was a letter to my brother,Which i actually attached to a red balloon and let go of at the VCB memorial service in Western Australia which is held annually. Many people attended and did the same to their loved ones... I didn't mean to make the poem rhyme although in some parts,i know it does.It was just the way it all came out... [bodytext] => If i could turn back time to that tragic day
that i held you in my arms
watching you die..
I would of for the first time
told you that I loved you
I told you lots of stuff in life
but "I Love You" was not one of them
and I guess now it's too late
I don't know, but if you really are reading this..
I love you
and im deeply sorry.
That day was the only day
that i saw dad with watery eyes
You know how much he always held onto his tears
I never had seen him cry
I guess that day brought out a side...
that we didn't think he had
or at least one we knew he didnt show
dad sat outside all night
everynight..
since the day you died
he used to come in only in the morning
full of mosquito bites
and cooked us breakfast
he always reasurred us
that we would see you again
but Ive lost alot of faith in everything
It's not something I believe in anymore
your sister's do and I dont ruin that for them
I wish I could believe it too...
maybe then I wouldn't be so scarred over it all
they say as soon as you die
your soul goes straight up to heaven
and even though i got to you too late
by looking in your eyes I knew you were still with me
just for that split second..
I knew.
A million thoughts clouded my mind
and questions were and still are...
around
Im still wondering about alot of things
I wonder why God didn't help you that day
people say things like this have to happen
but I dont see why it does
nobody should have to go through anything like this
and I always wonderd if God had the power..
where was he on that day you shot up?
he knows what we are gonna say
before we even open our mouths
and yet he allowed me to lose my only brother
my little baby brother.
You always said if you were to die tomorrow
for us all not to cry
I guess I never took it seriously..
nobody really thinks its going to happen to them..
or to someone they love as much as I love you..
Do they?
Until its too late
but just like you asked for..
Im sending you this letter to remind you
of how much you have and always will remain
in our hearts
and to let you know that...
everything that you left down here on earth
is okay
the kids... Your niece and nephew
are growing up fast and your two sisters
they miss you dearly
We all do..

You are one of the greatest men of all time
which i have been so fortunate to have in my life
You are a great man
and i guess something that will always remain
is the bond that only two brothers could understand

Stay happy and smile down on us
We hope we make you proud

Love,Your bro.

Oh how sad this is :(
Sorry to hear about the loss of your brother.
And you know..it is never too late to tell someone you love them. They may have died..but they are still here with us and still hear everything you say to them. :)

I'm sorry about your loss. I lost my brother also, he killed himself when he was 13. Just remember that one day you will get to see him again.
