The windows were painted black
As to shut light away from my eyes
And to help me not to turn back
I sat rigidly on the hearth
Eyes shut but mind bleeding open
The torrent of thoughts spun wildly
And one made it seem broken

"Her" - I thought to myself
"Her" - I needed some help
"She" - Should be dead in me
Yet, "She" - Festered like a disease

Then an idea formed in me
Standing still amongst the twitches
I could remove what was reminiscent
And then sew up the stitches
I opened my eyes and saw the bed
Where we had once laid
And then everything else just seemed
To form a cascade
Of lost joy and hope
The things you used to symbolize
The longer I peered at my abode
The more I realized
That everything was tainted
All was to be spurned
The ash fell onto my back
As my home was vehemently burned
A moment fo placidity died
When I felt you on my skin
My mind struck cold
You were still alive within

GOD!
IS THERE NO ESCAPE?
ARE YOU A PERMANENT CURSE?
IT THOUGHT IT'D BE OVER
WHEN I LAID YOU IN THE HEARSE
BUT STILL YOU'RE HAUNTING ME
YOU JUST WON'T LEAVE ME BE
SO NOW I'M AGES PAST
THE POINT OF INSANITY
THERE!
I FELT IT AGAIN
YOU CRAWLING UNDER MY SKIN
I TRIED TO STAY CALM
BUT THERE'S NO PEACE - ONLY SIN
ROLLING IN MY HEAD
FROM A DEVIL'S HYMN
NOW MY VISION'S BLURRY FROM
THE KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT HAD BEEN

I couldn't feel the flames
As they burned me alive
I only knew that is was killing
Her as well inside
But as I shoved my face
Deeper into the pain
Somehow she escaped
And an angel she became [comments] => 2 [counter] => 193 [topic] => 13 [informant] => sicknivesevered [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

This girl must have really gotten under your skin, huh? Whatever the case, she inspired you to write a really kick-ass, intense poem here. More power to ya.
