Oh, Unborn child, did you ever know
These arms held so much love for you
~Why did you have to go?~
My heart and soul in you, is still entwined
And revolves around you, in endless time.

You are now a rainbow as I look above
Though look next to you; your not alone my Dove
I knew you deep inside me, with all my heart
Did not know before we met, we would part.

There is some comfort in the knowing
Although sweet stories we can't be sharing
You are no longer there alone anymore
I wait here and will someday open that door.

Little Darling let me tell you why it is I cry
Our family is apart; you & your daddy in the sky
And yet there were the little Unborn Twins-
No time for balls, soccer games, diaper pins..

Halfway incubated to seeing teddy bears
The ultrasound 'picture show' was bare-
Little piles quietly lying on the bottom
Only pictures ever of you & still I've got 'em.

All of you together now, my lost loves
On a Rainbow soaring with an Eagle-
~My three little Doves~
So Kids, now you know when you look down
Moms looking for Rainbows from Earths ground.

~in tune of kids jumping ropes~:

"Coulda been! Woulda been! Shoulda been 6!
Let's All Go Now; We'll play 'Pick-up Sticks' !
Look Mom We're high up at Rainbows Gate!
Shoulda been! Woulda been!; Someday be 8!"

This is a poem that hits hard every time. The second time (just now) hit me as hard as the first time. It feels like a sweeping tingle running up and down my body and it makes me want to cry and hard. This is so powerful that I can't even find words to tell you how this makes me feel. I am glad you re-submitted it because so many new people miss out on your mass amount of talent archived here. Loved this one Ness. Touched my heart so deeply. One last thing--so much pain and somehow you turned it into a work of beauty. Kie

you always seem to manage to come out with such beautiful powerful work. you can tell you have given everything when you wrote this. If poetry's purpose is to touch you inside- then this is poetry.

How does one respond?

Although soaked in greif and pain, I see the natural human spirit that sees light at the end of a very long tunnel, I see colour splashed over the grey. You are one tough person.

The emotion in this is overwhelming.....the beauty with which it is written is unmistakably Ladyfawn. The bitterness of life hasn't tainted the sweetness of your heart .

Roses at your feet by the dozens

I can see why this poem was singled out...simply put, this is the most emotional piece i've ever had the honour of reading. You really made me feel everything as if it had happened to me...gorgeous, tinged with melancholia, a masterpiece of poetry and emotion.

Truly,

Dear Nessa,
I'm so glad I asked for your link. This is so terribly tragic. I've lost grown children (ended relationships) and maybe they are dead now I don't know. I can't imagine the pain you must have experienced. I'm so sorry for your losses.
I'm doubly glad that you write it all down in a poem.....part of your heart on the paper.....helps to relieve the pain in your heart's heart!
Hugs and more hugs
I love you

I know of this sadness this pain you must have and still do fell. May god bless you and your words and your life. May it always live with the colors of the rainbow. And know they are looking at you from above.
