And as I slipped them on my feet
We traveled old familar routes we had taken day after day .

And as I looked around with HER eyes, I saw , how the old corner drain had plugged again this year
And how the brushes cut back from the corner are beginning to grow back again.

I passed that old Safeway , now a Flea Market, at one time - a red brick corner store
and I paused and I gaze up at the sunny , blue fluffy cloud sky.

Smiling I wonder, if Moms looking down at me now.
Does she see, I've slipped on her shoes to show her things are all right

Then turning I walk back with just a little skip in my step.
With each step I take its with Mother in mind .
Like it's HER feet walking around.

With one final look behind me, before I come in .
I feel her all around me.
And it makes me draw a deep breath .
I Thank God for my Blessings.
Children , family and what I've got still
That Mom's left for me to carry On.

I walked in my Mothers shoes today and I smiled alll the way home. This is so poignant. She is with you, all around you every moment of your life. Sounds like you are filling her shoes very well, indeed.
