one broken life

Contributed by Pompous on Sunday, 7th March 2004 @ 04:38:16 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

all hell broken loose
no holds barred
no mercy left
just painful scars
this time there's no escape
you can't break free
carrying the weight of the world
it was never easy

you close your eyes
to the things you don't want to see
hoping to wake up in a different world
but you wake up to the same grey skies
wishing you could lay down
saying your last goodbyes

tears of loneliness crawl down your face
losing the memory of your last embrace
clench your fist to fight the pain
but when you release its there again
when the world turns its back on you
you know there's nothing left to hold onto

tell me what you need
tell me what you want
I'm always here for you
always trying to pull you through
grab my hand
I won't let go
if your scared just let me know

I loved your poem. The feelings were very well described. Then you twisted it in the end. I liked that. This poem helped me out a lot. Thank you.
