And I'm never never gonna take a plane home
I'm gonna hide out in the Jardin with the pigeons
I'm gonna sleep late under a bridge
And then have a breakfast of a baguette and crepes
And I'm gonna learn French real fast when I hear
all the famous people speak it
I'll know what 'toujours jusqu'a l'extremite' means
and I'll be able to talk to the homeless people on the subway
Maybe one day I'll ask for directions to the tower
in French and I'm gonna be on top of the world and so, so happy
I'm gonna have a flower from a flower stand boy behind my ear
and I will be so beautiful in Paris
,speaking French
,just walking
,everyday since I left from New Hope
I'll be happy when I go away to Paris... [comments] => 3 [counter] => 253 [topic] => 14 [informant] => Suz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )

It is a nice thought sweetie if it would work, but the truth in life is you can't run from your troubles. They go right along with you in your mind. A fantasy trip isn't bad occasionally though. You can see the Eiffel Tower from anywhere in Paris. You wouldn't have to ask directions.

Oh yes...Parisss...oh la la la. The city of lights and perhaps the city of lost loves and dreams....that haunting city has been the centerpiece of many a love story, movies, fantasies and imaginations. Iused to want to run away to Paris too....just like Hemingway in his formative years....I really like this poem and its implied considerations.
