It was hard when I was little
With a dad who’s just like you
When your heart is just so brittle
I wish you only knew

I see myself in your son's eyes
As I call you on the phone
I say my last goodbyes
Do you wonder if I feel alone

One giant tear on my cheek
As more messages I leave
Why don’t you want to speak
Don’t you wonder why I grieve

For you, I hope you play
Those messages I spoke
I said “Mom I love you” today
And really it’s no joke

Everyday I wonder what I did
For you to leave me here
Remember mom that I am your only kid
And in my heart you left a spear

I know you have a car
You have cell phone too
I don’t know where you are
But you know my love is true

I am a boy and yes I am tough
That is what I am supposed to be
But God calls me by my bluff
Why is it only him that can see

Please mommy take my glasses
And see what I conceive
I see as my whole life passes
With a mom that don’t believe
