I directed a silent screenplay,
It featured you,
you were the star.

I watched you closely,
And perfected all your flaws.
Which were already few,
Because you are perfect in my eyes.

You said all the right lines,
And knew exactly how to say them.
With suave perfection,
Nothing less than that.

You looked at your leading lady,
With eyes that sparkle like a child.
The innocence still remains in tact,
No matter how impure you may be.

The camera moves in for a close up,
Trying to find the best angle for the love scene.
You wrap her in your arms, as if no other woman
Could steal your heart the way she has.

She sees it too,
The sparkle inyour eyes.
And she feels so lucky to be wrapped up in your arms,
A feeling so safe and familiar.

As the last scene fades out,
I realize that I am your leading lady,
At least in my film, in my dream,
Knowing also that you're missing one thing...

And that is love.

I really like this, but the 4th stanza is exquisite.

A dream of love is so great but in the end you take one sentence and turn the poem all around. The realization that the leading man was acting as he does not have love. There is also a longing for someone like that but the realization that there is no one like that. Good work.
