thinking, pondering.
inquisitive spirits of ours,
does the river of questions ever run dry?
time is a sign of strength,
but time is also a bringer of weakness.
we all grow old,
we all die.
praise be to the scripts
that hold our thoughts,
for the silence is piercing,
but the voice in our mind is so loud.
death could never wash these words away
for they have been recorded in the minds of those who cared.
the people who read on are the ones who make us immortal.
what will we reveal?
things never known?
things never realized?
how far does the ink have to flow?
we write so that a part of us will never die.
we have the power.
the power transcends life
and lives on to enrich.
poetry is knowledge of people and life.
poets are teachers, prophets,
and people who really love others.
we belive in poetry
and we are chosen specifically
by something bigger than us.

Hey, mind if I print this out and share it with my husband? It expresses perfectly what I have been trying to tell him for years.

Hear hear! Wonderful job. Being a poet is something like being the heart of humanity.

Keep it up. May your pen never run dry.
