"I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER"

Scientists of our day claim animals
have no emotions.
Call them "dumb," dwarfed feelings,
exempt of passions!
This big white Samoyed Mother sent
vibes of affection.
How else could these wee goslings
adopt her, void of reason?

I wish I knew the story behind this scene
I'm not aware, I must assume, a mother
lost of fifteen?
They had not been taught their mother
had feathers....
A loving dog, cozy cuddled them,
tender licker.

They sensed her warm love, inspiring
touch, her very soul
Programmed into each instinctively secure,
comfort to console.
A Loving Creator so overwhelmingly
kind, critters instill.
Not even of same kind, His Love they feel
to do his will.

I've seen cows adopt little bum lambs,
cats a little puppy dog.
I recall an adoption of little kittens
by a big sheepdog.
We had a bird named Danny, that
adopted our "Pity" dog.
When she died, he was so lonely,
we had to get another wee dog.

This adoption is rare, and without
any doubt a miracle.
Where love is found, all things are
possible, a marvel!
Unreasoning animals are capable of
overlooking unusual kind.
Not so, educated, reasoning mortal man,
lacking love n'er binds!

If man would only look to His Creator
once again.....
Humble, allowing himself to be taught,
love for his fellow kinsman.
Cultivating love, first with His God,
and his Dear Son......
Plagues of mankind removed, back where
love ruled, before hate was chosen!

Great poem and the pictures are awesome. And so true. No one can help the way they feel even if they are animals

I LOVED this poem ConSue. Well you have sort of adopted me so I can relate to those sweet little animals! Thank you for reminding me of the good things in life. Kie

It's too bad humans can't love unconditionally like animals do. I for one will never believe animals are dumb. They can sense and feel danger long before a human can. They instinctly recognize an evil person. We have a cat named "Puppy Cat" because she was raised by a bird dog. She still thinks she is a dog because Sissy raised her. I have met some mean animals made that way by a human but I have never met a dumb animal.

This is BEAUTIFUL! I love the way you tied it into the greatest love of all at the end.
Nice work.
