Is the colour of flanquette
Changing the angle of entry into the vagina.

It is the colour of impulse.

Yet strangely enough
It is also the colour of the exaggerated moral sense of peccatophobia
The morbid fear of committing sin
And a tendency to see evil where there is no evil.
Leading in extreme form to sexual inhibitions.

Fiesta can suffer this way
For it is a psychic energy
That needs to be discharged or sublimated
Into culturally higher activity.

Yet the persona of Fiesta’s socialised behaviour never holds strong
For it is a colour that is forced to act out its primary urges
And basic, primitive emotions
Be they zealous patriotism
Chronic violations of customs
Intense self-destructive impulses
Martyrdom
Addictions
Or just a craze for dancing.

Fiesta is the colour of the hillbilly and the sacred cow
Both, for different reasons, exempt from criticism

Fiesta is the colour of the transient
Searching for work or a place to live
Yet it can also be the upper crust colour
Of silk-stockinged high society.

It is the colour of the baby boomers
The trendsetters
The beautiful people.
And the literati.

Fiesta is a contradiction in terms
For it is the colour of self-reproach
Of negative self-perception
And of fixation on the disturbing ideas
Of the Electra or Oedipus complex.

Fiesta is confused.

Like the colour of life on this planet at this space in time. Good description. Everyone everywhere has this colour in them.
