one year ago, it took us down,
I can't explain, the pain within,
the total silence, which took my kin,

The wound so hard, to comprehend,
imagine me, without a friend,
two thousand plus, I lost that day,
my hopes and dreams, all washed away,

I cried like a child, crushed and bruised,
I tried to be strong, but felt so used,
undying cries, still crush my soul,
it left a void, no life to hold,

I walk uneven, without you here,
I wipe another, .... a tear, .... a tear,
I called your name, so hard I tried,
and then I knelt, and cried and cried,

One million words, cannot express,
the day you gave, your very best,
somber-ly, I walk alone,
holding my heart, inside my bones,

I speak your name, gentle and tender,
as I enter, the month of September,
how much, my life, has really changed,
tears still travel, through my veins,

The bell's toll leaves, a somber mood,
two thousand plus, with love so true,
reminding me, of that fateful end,
the day, I lost, my best of friends!

A tragic heartwrenching moment in life that affected millions. This poem sums it up well on a personal level. Good job.
