Don't be fooled, tomorrow there's to be drought
The salt will be left behind in the water's evaporation
Sign of our demise and the liquid's liberation.

It's going up and we're staying down
Watching it wistfully as it recieves its crown
It will come back but it doesn't matter
For now we hear no rain pitter patter.

When the moon comes out in silent luminesence
We're so self centered we don't notice the iridescence
It's beautiful but how would we see
When the salt refuses to let us be free.

The world is suddenly a world of white
You'll find yourself nowhere if you take flight
Famine's a term that we bluntly deny
But everyone knows its no use to try.

When the sun comes up we've given up
No water was there last night to fill our cup
Dying and parched when the moon takes its leave
Too late does the rain start to fall steadily. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 235 [topic] => 64 [informant] => Eve [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 11 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ambiguous )

I love the mindset here! I feel this way sometimes too.
Sometimes rain seems more beautiful than humanity, doesn't it?
Keep writing.
