Was it the Romans? No!
Was it was I! Yes!

It is my sins that placed Jesus on the cross
He paid the debt with His blood Oh what a loss
Beaten for me and nailed through His hands and feet
You see this was not His defeat
He looked to the Father as He felt the pain
Forgive them for they know not what they do it is so plain
For if they did Father there would have never been a need
Oh Father I now lay my life down for them and plead
Father give them over to Me for someday they will see
I have bought them for a price the only cost was Me
Oh Father when I return I will take all that are mine
Only You know the exact and precise time
While I am away send the Helper Your Spirit
Oh Father some will not come and realize
Oh the tears that well up in My eyes
Oh why won’t they come to Your Son without any strife
For don’t they know I am the truth the way and the life
Oh Father some will perish into the deep dark pit
There will be an unquenchable fire that will not quit
Eternal death is what they will have forever more
When eternal life with Me could have been in store
Their hearts are hardened to the point they will not believe
On the One that sent Me to die for your sins to relieve!
Tomorrow may never come you see
For today is the day of salvation I plea
You will come to the Father and to Me!
Oh how I pray to the Father for all you see [comments] => 3 [counter] => 240 [topic] => 11 [informant] => Chester_England_White [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => ChristianPoetry )

It was the brits with their world domination/empire building and killing everyone who didn't agree with their king.

Interesting. Christ might have said something like some of that. Good job.
