Array ( [sid] => 3663 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Storm [time] => 2002-09-11 06:45:40 [hometext] => The struggle faced by some who endure temptation by another and must confront the storm of passions that rage within. This was originally supposed to be “The Longing Look Good-Bye” but was renamed once I finished writing it.
__________________________ [bodytext] => Soft and tender is the petal of a rosebud in full bloom,
Whose velvet face has never seen the shadows or the gloom.
Gentle as the dandelions down, when on the wind it skips,
All these things remind me of your soft and supple lips.
And like the deer when in the light, is a captivated doe,
My heart is silenced at your sight, and the emptiness does grow.
A canyon stands between us, one step it takes to cross,
And yet by chains I am held back, from a devastating loss.

A heart can tear itself in two yet keep beating by shear force,
And when alone what can I do for I cannot set a course.
Drifting on the waves of doubt, like the tide I come and go,
While crashing on the watery rocks, my emotions to and fro.
Blood races madly through my veins, I feel its every beat,
And the hunger that consumes me, may lead me to defeat.
For in your eyes I see my fate but fate makes fools of all,
And if I were to make that leap, I fear that I may fall.

So in the cleft I hold my place, my fingers clutching cracks,
The jagged surface of the wall pushes fiercely in my back.
The storm that thunders by me, may blow itself away,
And I’ll have held on to where I am to face another day.
But with the fading of the wind, an emptiness returns,
The unfettered need for passion that within me always burns.
Looking to the east, as your storm clouds leave the sky,
I let go of all that’s in me and slowly start to cry.
