_______________________
golden plains ripple
under west wind
dry crackle
of lightening
brings promise
of rain
for now I am
painted gold
in the sun
racing west
to meet the horizon
while the moon hangs
in the balance
between day and night
the smell of horses
leather and sweat
tells me I have
worked hard today

I love the references to weather and how it influences the rider (painted gold). Wonderful.

Hi Merry,
Pretty good movie, and the actual story that inspired it was fascinating. You know, this means that you were writing cowboy/girl poetry on site long before Ken Moore signed on!
I don't know about the horse's sweat, but the leather and sunset works for me.
