An Heavenly Hell

Topic: AngryPoetry

Your words cut me down to my knees
I beg for your mercy
Mercy is what you preach
But anger and deceit is what you live
Can’t you see your hurting me tearing me down?
You do not care
I am a disease that needs to be rid of
You hurt me then you laugh
You preach love
You preach understanding
When will those things count for me too?
You disagree with a choice I am making
But does that mean I deserve your looks your evil words
You are slowly killing me
If there is a heaven and you will be there
I will take hell over another day of listing to you

You need to learn to love
You need to learn to share
You need to learn to accept!
I am moving in with him and you don’t like it
But you’re not my dad
You’re not my mom
You’re not even a friend
You’re a leader to a life I do not lead anymore
Why can’t you see that I don’t listen to what you say
You’re hurting me but I am doing it
You can’t stop me
You do not care
You just want the power that I will not give you
He loves me
You do not
I am tuning you out
You lost you’re chance to win me over
I am leaving
And you have failed.

You definitely had a bad church experience, girl. Don't write us all off because somebody got stupid about God. God does love you.

your poem is well written you layed down your feelings ... but what is really going on here is the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD convicting you. you dont want to be led by the spirit your wanting to push the teaching aside and going on about your business. yes it is your business but what if years later as you get into this relationship you find that you should had listened to the teachings.. you say or hear others say why dont GOD stop the paing and uglieness in the world. well if they dont want to be led by THE HOLY SPIRIT then bad things do happen. now is it totally wrong to WAIT and get married ? you waited all this time... a little time wont hurt.. a little time to make sure that in your relationship there is more then just love cause when you start paying bills and seeing them all arrive all at once and then stress that comes to a man when finds hisself responsible arguements arise... be sure that both are ready and if you cant be ready for marriage how can you be ready to be moving in .. im not judeging you i hope things work out for you.. i hope that you have a great future ahead of you... but when it comes jumping in without totally looking you cant see the rough road ahead.. and it will be rough even if you get married or not but the preacher man is only preaching what GOD desires. and if you go against his desires then your going against what really is pefect for you and your boyfriend. he is trying to stop you now but you dont want to listen... that is the bottom line of being a christian is that people dont want to listen because they want to live their own way... .... good poem tho.. i like how you write... sandy

I can understand your frustration, but know your preacher is right. God is Holy, and "cohabitation" is a mockery of the sanctity of marriage. Please rethink of how you're relationship with the Lord will be once you move in with him.
Marriage is so much better!

Well, I'M happy for you!! Hey look, a comment from somebody NOT preaching stupid illogical reasons why not to live together first. Geez. Are you wearing a big preachy christian magnet, or what?? Coz you should really throw that thing out... lol. I like this poem, I love the way you ended it! My father was the same way towards me about me moving in with Dean, so I know how you feel. Remember you can talk to me if you need to. Love,

~ Dee

Everyone has their own beliefs and convictions and I think we need to respect them but lil_angel I think you need to do what YOU think is right for YOU. Don't do something because the church says to or because the people that comment on this say to. Everyone makes mistakes and moving in with your boyfriend could very well be one or it could be the best thing to ever happen to you, you don't know and neither does anyone else. Just do what you feel and don't worry about what everyone else is telling you.
luv,
-JadedExistence
