to the roller coasters that give flight.
The best times of life are on the straightened path.

The fall is sudden and immediate,
you feel as if you will fly off.
Then the uphill hits, and you're back against the board.

Then again, you fall, only to be hit with gravitation
the forces making your face act out constipation
You wish for the ride to end, to have a break, but the roller coaster
continues with its painful torment.

Just recently, and for no small dime,
I went on a roller coaster for the very first time.
A wooden coaster it was, that lifted me up,
135 feet in the air before an immense drop.

And oh, what a pain, the uphill movement
the weight of life pushing against you!
I sat in front of life's coaster, hoping for one less drop.
But the ride will never end, and up in the air I hop
as the coaster finally makes its way to the top,
almost ejecting me into the air,
and another drop right after granted my life another tear.

And lo, after an easy drop I say
"Certainly this was a lucky day!"
But then the track seemed to end,
as another, more evil hill is in a downward bend.

And lo, even when on safe ground,
the drop ends...and the supporting beams break..
O how difficult, the climb back up!
If one survives the destruction of the roller coaster, that is.

Time and Time I compare my life
to the roller coasters that give flight.
The best times of life are on the straightened path.
Another day, another painful drop and raise.
