[bodytext] => Crimes committed by blacks against other blacks are often ignored or lightly punished~why?~is the criminal system stacked against black people~why?? sixty two percent of blacks in prison for drug violations~compared with 36% of whites~although whites account for 75% of all drug users~why?? is there very little being done to curb the black-on-black carnage~blacks arent killin each other because were violent or crime prone by nature~or solely because were poor and oppressed~or even because were actin out the obscene and lewd violence we see and hear on tv, movies and in gangster hip-hop lyrics on the streets~the violence results from a combustible blend of cultural and racial baggage that many of us carry~it is a twisted and warped response to racism and deprivation~blocked opportunities, powerless and alienation~this perceived devaluation~of black lives by racism has encouraged disrespect for the law and has forced many blacks to internalize anger and displace aggression onto others~far too many young black males have become especially adept at acting out our frustrations at white societys denial of our "manhood" by adopting an exaggerated "tough guy" role~we swagger, boast, curse, fight and commit senseless violent self-destructive acts~then they say were prone to violence?david walker once said..."freedom is only a facade for the reality of caste...reduced us to degradation...reffering to us as barbarians...whereas youre the true barbarian for the extermination of indians...enslavement of blacks, the selling, raping and whipping of slaves are all signs of savagery, not civilization"~throughout this mess youve covered our mouths so people wouldnt hear our cries~to you, were jus anyones meat~lower than the crust on ur feet~although shivering, we are still wiping our eyes on our sleeves~peeking through the window as we stare at you with hate~winking with our good eye~we act like we like you...and quietly reach for our knives~hoping you burn in hell along with your treacherous wife~the damage done cant be bought~the theft of our freedom before our eyes and never seem to get caught~the whips across the back that we got~cause u assumed and u thought~people of color were naughts...so u left us distraught...if ya dont care where your at, then your never lost~we look up above and pray to a white man on the cross~we eat the lies they seem to toss~now...whisper in my ears tell me whose the boss~They always whisper far from our ears~and shout when were near~and they blame us for our incapabilities of not being able to hear clear~light and dark~bunched together to create a spark~in my head, you and I are the same~with no one but ourselves to blame~I want the winds to carry me through the present so I can see the future~don't stab me with my back turned~that leads to loss of respect earned~dont bite the hands that feed~write my rhymns, and role my weed...cause thats all my mind needs~so after meteors destroy the earth~pieces will dispurs throughout the universe~I am reggae and I wont be in the death tolls~because my souls got 21 dimension escape holes~

| By no means am I putting down your work here with this comment, but I do feel the need to say this...The things that were done to the blacks so many years ago were horrible in every way. But you see..this is 2002..almost 2003 now and I think it's about time it be let go. I mean for one, the blacks weren't the only ones who were treated so poorly. What about the jews for example?? I have personally never done anything to be racist against blacks or jews or anyone else..or at least I try not to be. But yet I have had many many black people be racist against me. And according to them, it's because of what the white man did to them so long ago. Ok ..so the white man was an ass all those years ago..be mad at them not me. As to the discrimination going on now..well there is discrimination everywhere, from everyone, in every shape and form. It's against the ugly, the handicapped, the overweight, black, white, indian, and soooo many more. The blacks are not discriminated by the human 'white' race. Yes, there are some, but not all. But there are also blacks that discriminate against the white. I would say it's a pretty even deal now these days. I will also add, that my best friend for years and years was a black woman. If I hadn't moved and lost touch, she would probably still be my best friend. |

im sorry for what those black brothers have done/said to you for the simple fact that your ancesters did that to our people...at the same time though...how can you expect someone to get over three hundred years of torture...and another 150 years of alienation and devaluation and constant massacre for no reason? white people used to lynch us FOR FUN!! hey billy bob...we gon hang us some niggers tonight...maybe three...bring popcorn and lil billy to watch!!
whites are always sayin...stop living in the past, move on...like you dont realize that you guys have forced us to move on....we have already moved on....We moved on to Black Codes, Jim Crow, lynching, de facto segregation. We moved on to White knights hiding behind ghosts of
themselves while religiously lighting crosses in praise of a Satan they were fooled into thinking was God. We moved on to the cities of Tulsa, St. Louis, and Rosewood where apparently, white people and uncle sam were unaffected by the burned and seared flesh of
Black people. We moved on to laws that upheld racial oppression over
and over again...We moved on to the many Black men placed on death row because they
fit the description. We moved on and made sure that Emmitt Till
would not be the last fourteen-year-old Black child whose
unrecognizable corpse was the price paid for supposedly whistling at
a White woman. We moved on to only be excluded from rights
of democracy by blocking avenues to employment, education, housing,
and civil rights. In the final decade of the last century the slow, consistent racial
apocalypse started showing signs of even more things to come when a
Black man's head was seen rolling behind a pick up truck in Jasper,
Texas. By the tme we racially profiled our way from Texas to New
York we find a city plagued with plungers and forty-one bullets.
Every time Black people have tried leaving the shackles of slavery
behind, we find that white people were the ones that couldn't stop living in
the past...i am not racist...i cant be cause im half white...yes the white man was an ass for all those years...he still is...not every each one of em...the white men ON TOP!! are the *****...makin false accusations of blacks...were ignorant...were prone to violence...we can never succeed...africa started aids....you probably think aids started in africa too huh??? the truth is...yes racism lives...but as long as you look black...youre automatically considered second in everything....and the u.s. government cannot stand the fact that blacks now are influencing and setting standards b/c thats exactly what THEY!! dont want...HISTORY REPEATES ITSELF!!! i agree with you...

| Ok..all good points..all true to some extent. You mention the deaths. I knew a kid when I was in school. His older brother met the fate of the curb stomp. Not sure if you know what it is..but it is pretty gruesome. The reason he was killed, because he was white. If slavery had never happened..would all that is going on today still be going on? Chances are yes. Because humans are weak when it comes to fear. We turn violent and ugly against that which we do not understand. There are many ethnics in this world and within the mixed up jumble is a whole bunch of people not understanding the next. If you compared the racism here in the US to what we feel for the terroists..well that just sort of puts it all on a bigger playing field. It is in fact the exact same thing. We do not understand their ways, their beliefs, religions..and likewise for them to ours. So look what is happening to the world. A War. As sad as the events were on 9-11 it did have one powerful effect. The barricades of racism have dropped. I understand some young child was found unidentified, killed for nothing more then whistling at a woman...a black man's head was found rolling on the ground. Ok..so two black males were horribly killed. I do not think I need to point out the millions of senseless deaths that happen everyday, everywhere. The point is..everything gets blamed on racism because it can. Because it's an easy excuse. Racism today does not exist because of slavery all those years ago. And all ethnic background should realize this. It exists simply because of our own stupidity and our own fears of that which is not 'normal' to us. Not to mention, not only the blacks, but pretty much everyone seems to forget that the blacks were not the only ones enslaved. Every ethnic background has been involved in slavery at some point in the history of our earth. And as for the KKK and any other white supremist group..there are plenty other black groups as well. And besides that, let me give you an example. When I was applying for loans for college..I filled every scholarship form I could think of. My girlfriend was filling them out at the same time. She came to me and said...I have one that you can't even apply for. Guess what it was for?? The Negro college fund. Now..if the 'whites' were to create a white college fund, we would be put under scrutinization for that. And for being 'racist'...where's the difference here?? We would all do well, each and ever human being..to let the past lie and stop blaming all of today's events on the past. What we do now has no bearing on what happened back then. In the risk of sounding rude here, not meant to be, bringing up the past is just an excuse to get away with what is done today. |

I see what youre talking about and it all makes sense...but you know what??? there are some things that you were wrong...not putting the blame on you...but simply b/c we have all been brainwashed to think a certain way...from k-12 and beyond...for instance...you said....

that may be true that blacks werent the only ones who were enslaved...BUT....we black people are the ones who suffered the most simply b/c our entire history has been erased...and it is like we are starting all over again....read this....and go to the links and learn some more about it...than write me back and whomever else wants to reply.....go ahead and reply...
Traditionally history had been taught from an eurocentric point of view. the reason is the content of education, textbooks,religious teachings and even the bible itself had been controlled for 500 years by europeans. sometimes this point of view obscures reality. there were some recent finds which might indicate an error in our translation of history. sometimes we are so reluctant to change our way of thinking that we need overwlming evidence, far beyond a reasonable doubt. this article will attempt to lay the foundation for african presence in the ancient america living freely before the arrival of columbs, not as slaves, but explores and traders who helped to buld the olmec civilization.
AFRIKAN PRESENCE IN ANCIENT AMERICA
The Washitaw were direct descendants of the Olmecs who mixed in with the Malian Moors. The name "Washitaw" comes from the Washita River which flows along Northwest Texas and Oklahoma to the Red River, where the Cheyenne Native Americans lived with the Chawasha, meaning "Racoon People" . The Washo were a tribe of Negroids who lived above the New Orleans Bayou and were of Tunican linguistic stock. The name "Washitaw" is a derivative of the term "Ouachita" or what is now "Wichita". The term is a Choctaw term which means "Big Arbor" which represented the Grass thatched arbor homes that the people lived in.
The Washitaw was originally from lower Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama (named after Nubian-Sudanese Ali Baba). The tribe was officially named "Wichita" by the U.S. Government in the Camp Holmes Treaty of 1835. This tribe were unmistakably a Negroid tribe! The Wichita were also known as "Paniwassaha" or by the French "Panioussa" which means "Black Pawnee." French traders from Illinois called them "Pani Pique" which means "Tattooed Pawnee." The Washitaw or "Racoon People" were called Racoons because of their black faces. When describing the Washitaw, the French describes the blacks who lived in large grass houses. The Washitaw called themselves "Kitikitish" which is an interpretation of "Raccoon Eyed." The term was later shortened to "Coon" which became a term used in reference to blacks in America. The Washitaw were an offshoot of the Pawnee Confederation. When the Moors came to America, they mixed in with the Washitaw Native Americans and became known as "Washo." So the Washitaw Moors are the so-called "Lost" tribe of Indians that are spoken of in the history books? Yes! They are the hidden tribe that were the descendants of the Olmecs and Toltecs of Mexico. The Washitaw tribe are also the ancestors to such tribes as Pawnee, Osage, Creek, Seminole, Cherokee, Catawba, Comanche, Nez Perce, Tuscarora, Gingaskin, Mattaponi, Powhatten, Micmac, Lumbi, Mandan, Blackfoot, Natchez, Chickasaw, and many more tribes.

Were the Black Indians ever sold into slavery?
The misconception is that Black Indians were never taken into slavery. This is not the case. Black Indians were also captured and sold into slavery along with their African cousins. The land of the Black Indians were taken. Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Illinois, Florida, Delaware, Tennessee, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana all belonged to the Washitaw Moors. The land was invaded by the French and British. The women were sold as sex slaves and the men were sold into slavery as "Negros." The U.S. Government even persuaded the red Indian tribes to own slaves. The Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, and Chickasaw tribes all agreed to slave holding of black Indians and Africans. The only tribe to resist the idea of slavery was the Seminole tribe. The Seminoles rejected the idea because they were the descendants of African explorers who settled in Florida and mixed with Muskogee refugees who had mixed in with the Spanish. They called themselves "Runaways." These black Seminoles who settled in the swampy terrain of Florida established cultivation methods that were identical to that of the methods of Sierre Leone in Africa. Georgia slave holders were soon invading Florida looking for runaway slaves and were soon met with opposition with Seminoles.
The Seminoles tried to live a peaceful life in their own territory but Georgia militias were preparing to raid Florida looking for African slaves (many whom had already sought refuge with the Seminoles and blended in perfectly since both Africans and Seminoles were black.) The Seminoles, African runaways, and the Spanish all aligned with each other to fight off the slave holders. In 1739 slave fugitives in St. Augustine built a fort to protect themselves and the British. Black Seminoles led the coalition against slavery in the North. Black Seminoles even planted "spies" posing as African slaves being sold by Creeks to the British just to gather information. Eventually the red Seminoles began to join the resistance. This is when the U.S. Government became worried. The government never anticipated the well working relationship between the reds and blacks. Georgia slave holders soon realized that the Seminole Nation could put an end to slavery. This caused the first Seminole War. Seminoles struck U.S. slave plantations. When the St. Augustine blacks joined in the Seminole raids were destructive and the Seminoles could not be stopped. General Andrew Jackson of the U.S. Military vowed to wipe out the Seminoles. The Seminoles took control of a British fortress and re-named it "Fort Negro" which was manned by black Seminole officers. The Seminole army consisted of 300 Seminole men in which only 34 were red Indians.
African slaves began to join the army the Seminoles seemed indestructible. With General Andrew Jackson's rank on the line, he gathered U.S. troops, Marines and sought the assistance of 500 Creek Indians. Jackson's orders were to kill the Seminoles, blow up the fort and restore the Africans to their rightful owners. A war erupted after the Seminoles refused surrender and a cannon ball was fired into the Fort Negro's ammunition barracks which blew up the fort. In the ruins, 270 Seminoles were dead, 64 were fatally wounded and the leader of the Seminole resistance, Garcia was captured alive and then executed. General Jackson kept this incident a secret from the public for 20 years because Jackson never had an official declaration of war signed, therefore it was considered murder, not war. However, this massacre was only the beginning of the Seminole resistance and was only the first of three Seminole wars that would carry on for years. The remaining black Seminoles relocated to the Tampa Bay area where they nursed their wounds and prepared for the next battle. The Seminoles this time joined forced with Chief Billy Bowlegs. Without the U.S. Congress knowledge, Andrew Jackson went on a rampage throughout Florida burning black Seminole villages of Fowltown. When James Monroe took the U.S. Presidency in 1817, Jackson proposed a secret plan to take Florida from the Seminoles who at the time owned certain territories of Florida.
Jackson soon captured Pensacola and without a declaration of war, Florida passed into U.S. hands! Another state owned by blacks that the U.S. captured. Since Florida was officially Spanish territory, the U.S. paid Spain $5 million for Florida, making Jackson's illegal seizure appear as a real estate purchase. The U.S. then tried to separate the black and red Seminoles by trying to convince the Seminole leader King Hatchy to turn over anyone who had black skin. King Hatchy replied that he would use force if any government tried to pass through the Seminole territory and he would not hand over any black Seminoles. To disrupt racial alliance between blacks and reds, the U.S. promoted slavery among the Seminoles and tried to convince them that the other "Indian" nations were also interested in slavery. The Seminoles rejected. The U.S. then sent in wealthy Creek Indians who owned slaves to persuade their tribal cousin the red Seminoles to become slave holders. Whites and Creek Indians were encouraged to raid black Seminole villages for slaves. Free Seminole men, women, and children were carried off and sold in southern slave markets as "Negros." Many black Seminoles relocated further into the swamps and became known as "Maroon." Other black Seminoles agreed to be taken into slavery as long as they were able to own their own cattle, horses, hogs, and were treated like family rather than like their African cousins.
These black Seminoles had equal liberty with whites. These Seminoles were not considered slaves but they were considered Seminoles who maintained their African names, dressed in fine Seminole clothing, and turbans. The remaining Seminoles migrated to Mexico for 20 years and others migrated to Texas and mixed in with the black tribes of the Washitaw.

what you dont seem to realize is the fact that...more than 4 million Africans and their descendants born in this country were enslaved in the United States and its colonies from 1619 to 1865, denied the right to pave a prosperous future for their offspring. Forbidden to learn, never compensated for their work. Held captive and suffocated for generations by beatings, rapes, and executions, and then released from bondage with nothing but the rags on their backs in a country hostile toward them. They set forth with nothing to offer their heirs but a future filled with unusually cruel obstacles and over a hundred years of institutionalized racism(which are the parents...of this generation from late 70's to mid 80's) and the only reason that the present generation of white Americans are in a position of economic strength as they are. . . is because their fathers worked our fathers for over 400 years with no pay. . . . they were sold from plantation to plantation like you sell a horse, or a cow, or a chicken, or a bushel of wheat. . . . All that money is what gives the present generation of American whites the ability to walk around the earth with their chest out . . . like they have some kind of economic ingenuity....and what did our parents get to give to us...absolutely nothin...so our generation...(keep in mind that when i say "OUR" generation...im reffering to the kids born within the timeline of the late 1970's to the mid 1980's...im 20yrs old) is working hard to get to the point where not as much of us will need to apply for financial aid...like white kids do...there are white kids that are in need of financial aid, b/c not every white kid is from a rich neighborhood...but at the same time...there are more than half of us black kids who cant even afford to go to school...and as soon as we apply for financial aid...the normal ones like the one you applied for...(i cant think of names right now) we mostly have a lesser chance of attaining those financial aids...than if we were white...it is a fact. its happened to me before...not saying that it happens all the time...but very close to 50% of the time...so either way...white kids have an advantage over us...because were automatically looked down upon b/c were from neighborhoods that are filled with drugs/guns...all the things that have been delivered to our neighborhood by our own government...THE C.I.A. how else would they get there?? and aids...i bet you actually think aids started in africa by "THE GREEN MONKEY" right??? so your argument of...

is irrelevent...because youre not looking at the whole picture...but at the same time though...i can see WHY you would say that...please...i urge you to really check those websites out sometime ...because they wont teach you that in world history...but they will teach you about the kings and queens of england till you find yourself asleep on your desk.

racism does not exist today...yes...!! BUT!! thats only because now...we are judging people by CLASS!!!

I'm not going to make this a long reply like the last... Just had a couple more things to add.
and aids...i bet you actually think aids started in africa by "THE GREEN MONKEY" right???
You asked me that twice...No I do not think that.
My answer to that directly relates to your comment about my history not teaching me about black history. And you would be wrong. I went to an excellent school and the history teacher was awesome.
You and I could go on and on about this subject. But it is always going to have the same outcome. You have your views as well as I have mine.
I respect your opinions and I think the poem you wrote that started this all was very good indeed..keep writing and take care... |

blah,blah,blah,blah ---wake the f-ck up, mr. history. did you happen to study anything before the time when blacks were enslaved, because if you did then you would know that every race on the face of the planet has been enslaved at one time or another(including white people) now or should I say more than a hundred years ago just so happens to be your turn. so cry me a f-cking river. white people forced you to move on, to stop thinking about the past. i don't think so, we simply want blacks to stop using it as a crutch to lean on everytime something doesn't go your way. you are not being heroic, or leading your people to some better way, you are only causing more drama in an already stressful world. of course there is hate in the world but not because you're black and the rest of the planet is something else but because we are all human and we just can't understand the meaning of love. |

| Though I understand your feeling, I was rather disappointed. I am white and grew up in the north. I hadn't a clue what prejudice was until I was about 11. I found out from a black kid at school. I moved to the south as a teenager and was shocked at the prejudice here. The only thing is, it was discrimination from black towards whites. Not only in adults, but in children as young as three. I have never met a white child that young that has been taught to hate another race. It isn't uncommon to come across a black child that's been taught to hate. I know that some whites do harbor that hatred towards blacks, but not all of us. I am not trying to say that blacks are worse than whites, but that the fear blacks still harbor is passed on to their children at an early age. This in turn, becomes racism and continues the cycle. Until the whole thing is let go on both sides, we as the human race will never be able to move on. |
