For from you it's never meant
You want to gain my trust
But the trust I once had is bent
I have a life to live
But you keep me behind closed doors
And when I have a chance to leave
You start to make up chores
You wonder why I scream
And why I run away
But Mother you just ruined
My chance of a better day
You say you are sorry
But I can't help but doubt
You seem to say it all too much
That I think you don't know what it's about
You're sorry for chores you made for me
You're sorry for Dad's abuse that you did not see
I bet you feel "sorry" that I'm the way I am
You are probably even sorry that my life began
I'm numb to you saying sorry
It doesn't mean a thing
I have a few things im sorry about
And I'm sure about every single thing
I'm sorry I've been so lazy
I'm sorry I'm such a *****
I'm sorry I have made you cry
I'm an open wound that starts to itch
I'm sorry that I torture you
Make home a burning hell
I'm sorry that I'm even here
I'm sorry your stomach swelled
I'm sorry I'm a big mistake
That had entered your lives
I'm sorry that I always will
Have depressed tears in my eyes
I don't know where things changed
Where I'm no longer "Daddy's girl"
But now when I think of Dad
I feel like I'm going to hurl
I dont know why I feel this way
I dont know what to do
I don't know why you hate me so
I don't know why I'm so confused
And Mom have you ever noticed
When you say "I love you"
that I dont even try to say
"Mom I love you too." [comments] => 2 [counter] => 223 [topic] => 32 [informant] => AloneInTheWorld [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

Wow..growing up is so hard to do. I had a really hard life..and no I am not just saying that. If I told you half the things I went through, you're life wouldn't seem so bad. I never had a relationship with my real mom..NEVER..although I yearned for it and still do to this very day. Lost my father once..and I was a daddy's girl. Got him back now and will never lose him again. Now that I am older..and a mother myself..things my parents did back then seem all too clear now. Ofcourse there will always be unanswered questions. Things I will never understand. But by going through the things, I learned what not to do when it came to my own children. Life is what you make of it. And if you make it all about not being happy..then you will never be happy. Find the good things in your life and dwell on them for awhile. See if that doesn't help a bit. Good luck to you and a great poem :)
