Is this the start of the end?
All the chickens home to roost
Charges he cannot defend

Above all claims
One stood on its own
He misled America
No Iraqi threat had grown

The people are not dumb
They see a war not won
A useless enterprise
Not worth one son

And then there’s the money
For this crazy scheme
How many billions?
For a neocon wet dream??

This could be the start
Of the end for George Bush
Slipping fast in the polls
He needs just a push

Already he stumbles
and mumbles along
Stuttering in the dismay
Of a dismal swan song

In the past few weeks
He went from belligerent
All the way down to
a baffled penitent

Finally he knows the sad facts
He’s been told the bare truths
He failed the country
And wasted brave youths

So many errors
So much manipulation
They destroyed all faith
In a powerful nation

A lame-duck president
Still TRYING to smile
Simply incapable
of any statesman style

The worst leader in history
Will be his epithet
A poor sad nobody
We can only regret

"a baffled penitent"

lol.

Surely you mean the worst 'American' leader in history?

I guess I won't comment on what the poem is about. But I did like the form of your poem. Keep them coming, I guess we all should pray for our leaders. Oh comment on one of mine please.
