what time did you come, what time did you leave
candles burned down, and wax has gone cold
when daylight arrives my heart starts to grieve
my pale hands tremble as the story's retold

the villagers whisper your name like a curse
unholy creature they called you undead
this nightmare must end before it gets worse
my love could save you, that's what you said

a silver bullet, shot through your dear heart
you said it would free you forever my love
and what of me? is there no poison dart
to whisk me away on wings of a dove

the sun slips down to the promise of night
the noise of death sends us forever in flight

This is nicely different. I would normally shy from a title like this, but I'm glad I read it. Love the last two lines. "The sun slipping down..." that is just lovely.
