(My father)
To the future, cheers!
I pushed and pushed and now it’s here.
I knew you could do it I always had faith
Now go boy don’t worry you’ll be safe.
I wish I had what you had standing here today,
My father here praising me on this very special day.
Your not alone son I’m always here
I’m always the one giving you the last needed cheer.

(My mother)
To the future, cheers!
I know I’m crying but they’re happy tears.
I want you to eat and call me anytime
Don’t let the girls get you you’ll always be mine.
I will always be here for you my love
My baby: I know, I know, your all grown up.

(My friends)
To the future, cheers!
Come friends let’s drink these beers.
I love you all I really do.
Damn it’s amazing after all we’ve been through.
Hey! I’ll still call and e-mail trust me,
I’ll visit often you guys are like my family.
Ahh, come here give me a kiss
Oh come on don’t be such a sis.

(My Professor)
To the future, cheers!
May many share my shedding tears.
I made you what you really are
another great performer; a shining star.
I’ve waited for this day to come
When you’d realize you are the one.
So get out there and make the best of it
Just remember I’m here if you need to visit.

(My Grandparents)
To the future, Cheers!
I hope we have many more Happy New Years!
I was there like you it all seems like yesterday
There will always be a bad day
And there always is a really good day.
Like today hopefully tomorrow
Think of the best don’t dwell on the sorrow.

(My thoughts)
To the future, cheers….
I hope I can do it after all these years.
I’m so scared out there it’s not so kind
I just hope I have what it takes to make it mine.
I miss everyone so much, why does it have to be?
Is this the future that I was meant to see…..

Let me be the first here to congratulate you, both on your graduation, and this fine poem. It really reminds me of my own rather less conspicuous day, but a seminal event in my life nontheless. Thanks.
