Array ( [sid] => 35719 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Princess [time] => 2004-02-20 18:52:52 [hometext] => Lighter than most of my poems-- I wrote it for my stuffed bunny, Princess. [bodytext] => Golden orange ribbon with aged lace and oriental flowers over brown-spotted bloomers
Slightly off-white skin with a seam down her face and white painted points on her black button eyes
Three orange roses on a crown of more aged lace sits on top of long ears sitting primly on her shoulders
Big funny feet and skinny squishy legs with pink thread making toes and ruffles at the edge
Perfect pink rectangle nose sewn in perfect pink thread and a delicate pink smile on her face
Stuffed full for years of squeezing and beautiful like a princess hiding in her plastic Easter basket

And now the ribbon is frayed and faded and the lace is ripped and torn and the bloomers are gone
And her skin is brown with holes exploding with stuffing and her eyes are scratched with no white spots
The three orange roses and the lace are still on her head but her ears are brown too and one is ripped in the middle
Still big feet to make me laugh with frayed pink thread that came loose but was tied tight
Nose is rough and smile still pink but sewn tight with red, but always just as beautiful
Half the stuffing gone from years of love but still enough to be right and hiding in my blankets not an Easter basket.

Some of her stuffing is gone but she still holds my tears and my blood
And her stomach is flat from being a pillow and she is still cuddled every night
She is a magic bunny and she is beautiful with her warm magic
Even though she is torn and tan my Princess keeps my dreams sweet. Awwwww . . . Zanna, that's so sweet :-). Princess would, I'm sure, love it. I'd write a kinda parallel poem on, ah, Princess' counterpart, but I haven't the guts and my poetic inferiority would be painfully obvious. Anyway, love it and you, hon.

Miss ya much,
Nora
