and i was in need of a little escape from this world
I took my guitar and my notebook
and headed down to the beach...
where i saw a little girl.
Her right hand held tight by her mother
her mother smiling as the little girl...
waved her left arm in the wind
jumping up and down
She liked the feeling of her toes
digging into the sand
and the look of her small little footprints
trailing behind her..
wherever she did stand
I looked at the little girl
in disbelief i try and think
as i watch her skip so freely
dressed in purple and pink
A gorgeous face with eyes of blue
her hair so straight and fine
such a cute little button nose..
Who'd ever thought she were mine?
She looked so beautiful
expression so profound
I could hear her humming..
Such a sweet and soothing sound
I watched them walk towards me
and as they came a little closer..
She looked into my eyes..
I smiled seeing her smile
she handed me a flower
and said: "Follow my trail"
She continued her walk
and without a word to say..
I stood up to follow
tracing her every footstep...
every step of the way
We made it halfway up the beach
when she turned to lead me to the shore
Where I paused to look at the ocean
and footprints in the sand were no more
I felt the water gently pass over my feet
as the beautiful sunset calmed my soul
I looked around for her smiling face
The face that made me whole
Amelia - nowhere in sight...
she was the little girl
who i loved so
who so long ago
left my world.

I love you. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 242 [topic] => 39 [informant] => Demon [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )

Oh my...this is soooo sad. If this is about a true loss that you endured I am deeply sorry. She sounds like such an absolute beautiful child. God's blessings to you..
