Array ( [sid] => 35403 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => BEING OVER 50 [time] => 2004-02-18 07:52:23 [hometext] => I don't mind being over 50.....there are advantages you know...... [bodytext] =>

After 50, so many surprizes,
Being kidnapped finally ceases!
In any given hostage situation,
They will release you first before prison!

No one expects you to run..........
You've won the race before it's begun.
You're no longer called a hypochondriac.....
You can moan and groan...they expect that!

There is nothing left to learn the hard way!
We do most things the easy way, touche'
Buy whatever clothes you want now, they
won't wear out!
Eat dinner at 4 p.m. you've got "age clout!"

We can live without sex easily, but not specks
So many "floaters" in our eyes, chose your
favorite insects!
We love hearing all the details
about others operations.
No kidding? By passed your heart,
and exited the colon?

Great heated arguments about a good
pension plan......
Old Dan Rather is the best newsman!
Finally, after all these years, you stop trying
to hold your tummy in.
You could care less what anyone thinks.
No longer thin....so how can you sin?

Your eyes won't get much worse...
Your joints tell you more than the
weathermen disperse.
Secrets are at last safe, your friends
can't remember them?
And your supply of brain cells is so few,
all you can do now is write a poem! *smiles*

We have the most fun playing our
oldster games.
"Sag You're It!" "Pin the toupee on the bald
guy, James?
Then there's "20 questions shouted
in you ear."
'Red Rover, Red Rover, the nurse says
bend over here!"

"Doc Doc Goose," and my favorite,
"Hide and go pee!"
We can't play musical chairs, so it's musical
recliners....whopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
"Simon says something incoherent,"
Or "Spin the Bottle of Mylanta for three.
"Kick the Bucket," but who wants to play that?
Not me!

"Being young is beautiful,
but being old is comfortable!"
Will Rogers

I can't take all the credit
for this one......
a friend sent me some
of these off the web,
but the poem is mine.

Well I'm four years past,
The time of which you speak,
Heart still strong,
But eyes are weak,

And yes I also shoo,
The specks away,
Or get lost in them,
As they play,

Yes your poem today,
Is right on the money,
For indeed after 50,
Life changes honey!,

Excellent poem maam....Russ

My favorite ager excuse is "Oh, honey, I forgot" when I don't want to do something. They just think you are getting senile. I use it on my children all the time! These are terrific. I play some of these too!

Hugs my dear friend,
Rita

The usual super-duper write by critter's ma
-----------------------------------------------
Passing fifty is a test
Maybe fifty is the best,
Don't stop there and count the rest
If that were all I'd be depressed.

Passing sixty is a feat
Maybe sixty can't be beat,
Don't stop there there's more to meet,
Enought to still walk on your feet/

Passing seventy, what a joy
You make it passed, it's boy oh boy
Don't stop there, There's Myrna Loy
And there are others like Rogers, Roy

Now passing eighty makes quite a poem
You hit a hundred, you've reached home
Now's the time we're off to Rome
Nothing stops us..we'll keep goin'
