my good friend

Denial is a good friend,
until you are aware of him.
Oh no!
The door cracked!
Slam it back shut!
What was that awful scene,
my good friend, that you shut away?
That wreck of a person,
on her knees for a lost cause.
My friend just shrugs and smiles.
Suspicion out of recognition arises.
Silver cold slivers through me,
my friend now a snake,
constricting away my existence,
squandering my screams.
I feel myself slowly-fading-
Silver cold is now my skin,
my eyes fly wide.
I'm screaming in pouring rain-
on my knees-
for you.
