Cold Steel

Contributed by poison_touch666 on Monday, 16th February 2004 @ 04:22:16 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I’m a selfish bastard,
An arrogant git,
I’m wound to snap,
One push and I’ll break,
And bring it back again,
Bring back that familiar touch,
The touch of cold steel burning through my flesh,
That stinging pain reliving me of my worries,
My worthless tears and filthy blood corroding the blade,
My tormenting emotions indescribable,
My pain built up over the years,
Like that small snowball that grew as it rolled down the hill,
Now it’s become overwhelming, engulfing me.

I’m searching in the dark,
With no clue of what I’m looking for,
I’m searching for what I’ll never find,
A feeling of relief of happiness,
I need someone to make me whole,
Make me feel alive,
To do it without knowing,
The talks and support won’t heal the wound,
No matter how hard they try,
I’m still looking,
For what I don’t quite know,
But deep inside we’re all looking for the same,
All I know is that it’s out there. Somewhere.

'Like that small snowball that grew as it rolled down the hill,
Now it’s become overwhelming, engulfing me.'---I was hoping that would go in one of your poems. You are very metaphorical. Keep writing friend, and remember...that someone won't be far away......
