Sunset

The sunset is calling me
Stronger than ever before
Something beyond the horizon
Bids me come explore

Living less and less holds me
I feel its grip lessen every day
I yearn to see what’s out there
Not much longer can I stay

Do not mourn me friends
Do not cry and weep
I have an appointment in eternity
With my Father I must keep

I shall hold your memories
A great treasure to revere
My love remains with you
Real and sincere

Someday if you would find me
Just follow the sun as it sets
To where faith comes true
Without any regrets

Just over the horizon
Beyond the reach of night
I’ll be there waiting
Dancing in the light

Russ
