It's a tribute to the lovely little quirk of having a Friday the 13th, then Valentines Day. [bodytext] => A calendar of 13's
My heart doesn't fit together quite right
Both ends of the same piece
Black and silver roses
And rain collecting in the streets
Spinning globe of forgotten daydreams
Coming back to haunt your sleep
The splash of color in your monochrome
The echo's gone, so walk away
A rational world is illogical
The moon's still skybound during the day
Chipping away at a brown paper bag
Already half-torn by the wind
Nail a rose into my coffin
Positioned right above my heart
Not blind; simply unseeing
And unfinished before the start
Hiding in motheaten drapery
And tattered shadows thrust in light
Tears dried on satin pillows
Candles burned beyond the wick
Shades of gray within a rainbow
A flash of truth, and then it's gone
Through patchwork recollections
And blacklight renditions of what's real
Daggers thrust into old wounds
Then morphine added so you can't feel
My lullaby is dwindling
Night's falling; nightmares begin
And as the last stanza's fading
My world comes to an end. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 13 [informant] => rissa [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

I think you have captured exactly the whacky world of love perfectly. Really enjoyed this.--Russ

It's amazing. But you already knew that I loved this one from the beginning. What you didn't know is that I worship you for it. Of course, you knew I worshipped you and your writings before anyway. Heh.

Keep writing as always,
-Eve.

Nullification, then annihilation?

Another interesting theme.

"Positioned right above my heart
Not blind; simply unseeing"

I like this one. Not as much as Eve does, but I like it nontheless.
