Moving through time like a meandering stream.
Sensing a purpose through the twists and turns.
Some guiding power, my own wisdom to spurn.
Frought with danger, this fool runs amuck,
Weaving his way while trusting to luck.
Comes the moving of another power there,
Entreating for me, my soul to lay bare.
Through trial and trouble and turning awry,
Seems I was gifted I did not die.
Someone to help at the right time,
At the right moment, like a verse in a rhyme.
A situational shift, totally unexpected,
No way prompted by what I sellected.
Leading me to the end of myself;
Here turning, there blocking the way of my drift.
I feel a blessedness in all of this;
As being drawn back from a gaping abyss.
I cannot tell why this favor so dear,
Should shadow my life year after year.
Being worthy of doom, with no goodness at all,
While showing the worst example of the fall:
This thing I do, I marvel every day,
that God would show mercy to this piece of clay.

Isa.45:4-7 "I girded thee though thou hast not known me". Jere. 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee". Isa.49:1 " The Lord hath called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother hath He made mention of my name."

Lionel, this is beautiful. It feels very similar to my journey to Christ. The trials and tribulations but the end result has been a major impact on me. He loves all his children and tries to guide us to him. It just takes some of us longer than others to learn apparently.

Oh Lionel! This is a wonderful poem. Quite unique in its kind.
Divine Providence leading the way - things happen when and were we expect it least.
I love these, so very true lines especially:

"A situational shift, totally unexpected,
No way prompted by what I sellected".

Oh yes, HE holds us all in His hand.
Great poem to highlight it.
Thanks for posting.
Love and peace
Elizabeth

BRAVO!BRAVO!BRAVO! Encore for you Lionel!!! Like a beautiful tapestry with threads of different colors woven through it. Your life, your efforts, and finally blessed.
I too am a student of the scriptures and you use them very well............good for you.
A humbling experience to know he still loves us so..............we made from clay
Thank you Lionel for pointing this wonderful poem of yours out to me.
I'm so glad I didn't miss a word of it.
Warm love
