Just received your message, leaving me so soured,
Uninvited memories are taking control of my mind,
Still can’t believe you have left our friendship behind,
Once I craved to reveal my flowering soul to you,
It pained me so much to conceal a feeling so true,
Falling in love with you was never my intention,
How could I resist you after giving me so much attention?,
But my courage faulted every time you got near,
Never imagined that cowardice would cost me so dear,
“I fell in love with a girl” once you eagerly told me,
“Oh congratulations” was my reply, hating myself for sounding raspy,
After so many years you’re inviting me to your wedding, how will I survive?
Can’t afford to look at you and bring back feelings that once were so alive

this is always the problem- when the person was with us, we are too shy or scared to say or do anything, but after they are gone or taken, we cries our heart out..... a very very very touching poem......

Wow, this one is seriously sad . . . I like it. I like it a lot. Nicely done, great job *beats self over the head for not seeking out more of your poems to read* Well, that'll soon be remedied *trots off to see what else Anne's written*
