Gentle as it emits such perfection
Red as the deep velvet heart
You gave to me that day

A Rose doth sit upon thee tonight
Carressing every whisper near
A fallen petal of love so strong
Like a stone within my soul

A Rose doth sit upon thee tonight
A memory of our times together
Im sorry i could not save thee that day
A regret not even a rose could reverse

A Rose doth sit upon thee tonight
Watching over lifeless love
A grave of romance left for you
I dug from the soil of passion

A Rose doth sit upon thee tonight
Each tear i cry a breath of life
Year in year out a new rose sits
On this day called valentines

firstly I loved the title secondly the constant allusions to valentines gets a wee bit tiresome. Your poem was still good despite that.

Luke....I have been looking forward to your posts with great anxiety. This one caught me off guard, in a good way. I haven't seen you do a lot of fee-verse writing, and found your words both piercing and somber. Keep up the fantastic work, 'cause I want more! More I say!

Truly,
-Dan
