[hometext] => This poem was written some years go. It represents one responce to "nature".
[bodytext] => God-forsaken cedar wastes beyond our bounds,
Hemming us in; defining us; defying us. Forbidding land on the world's edge, Land of the feral dog, the wolf and the feral man: Little grows there; less grows here that is good. We, the town, are forced upon ourselves: Fearing the land, fearing ourselves. Trapped by heart we gnaw the trapped part To be free: Free but crippled; Crippled but free of the trap!
