Array ( [sid] => 34669 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Why? [time] => 2004-02-12 00:04:58 [hometext] => I got hit with this wave of melancholy type thing, deeper than just sadness, and I started writing this in my head, and I had to get it out. So here it is. [bodytext] => Why is our world so sad?
Why must we cry these tears?
Why must our hearts break?
And why must we feel fears?
Why can't the birds sing louder?
And why can't the music drown out the screaming?
Why can't the rain fall softer?
And why can't our worst lives only be dreaming?
Why are there broken families?
And why do we yell and scream so loud?
Why are there so many hopeless?
And why are we too proud?
Why can't the sadness escape?
And why can't we just let it go?
Why do we pick up our demons?
And why do we hold them close so?
Why don't we learn from others mistakes?
And why can't we love without restrictions?
Why don't we practice making others smile?
And why don't we stick with our convictions?
What would the world be like,
without these dark thoughts?
What difference can one person make,
when pain seems all I've brought?
I long to change the why's,
and make them all why not's.
I long to get rid of the "but's..."
and change all these heavy thoughts.
I'm working towards my dream,
doing what I can to make this a better place.
I'm giving God all that I've got,
and now seeking only his face. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 170 [topic] => 48 [informant] => waos [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 24 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I don't think it's worth it asking these questions over and over again while doing nothing about it, it eventually drives you crazy. I'm glad your poem ended on a more positive note, that you're the type that decides to take action rather than submit to a quiet resignation. Well done.

Great write,I think it is human nature to ask these questions. We all ask them in one form or another, but we also have to answer them for ourselves.Like I said great write.Made me think.

This is good, very good. Only by asking the questions will we even begin to search out the answers. Do we just sit idly by and let apathy take over? Or sit and 'hope' someone will fix it? That someone has to be a lot of 'us'. One person at a time, trying builds to a team'trying' which builds to a multitude which can make a difference. It is our world. We have to make a difference or we just let it die. Stand up and make a difference. I applaud you for the questions, and I applaud you for looking for the answers. BRAVO. Rita

Half of life is asking questions, if no questions were asked, then we'd all be falling off the same cliff...
Great write, and it makes you think, becuase its true

Waos
Say you are prettry good. This is a powerful poem and I think we all ask may of these why's as we should.
Satan is in this world and has much power.Remember Jesus said "Pick up your cross come follow Me" meaning there will be wrongs and suffering. Why ? We won't know the answer until we die or He comes again.Death is to be the last of satans powrs to be defeated. Good write.

Why's we all ask them.Death is the last of his things to be defeated satan has much power.
Pick up your cross;Come follow Me.By this Jesus told us there would be good bad and suffering.
Why--we'll have to ask that question when we meet Him.
