shallow a bit,
whose molds and cultural norms
you don't fit.
So they exclude you,
and harass you,
and shut you out,
but if you looked in the mirror,
would there be any doubt?
Would you want to be accepted,
since they're so different than you?
They like different things,
different clothes, different shoes,
different bands, different shows,
different paint for your toes.
But are you so different?
You judge just the same.
Only you're behind their back
calling them names.
You preach the gospel about the person within
about how not to judge,
unless you get in their skin.
But it doesn't stop you
from casting your stones
for the mousse in their hair,
and the Abercrombie they own.
Take a look in that mirror,
to see your reflection.
See that glass house,
that you've built for protection.
And before you decide to cast the first stone,
take a look at yourself,
and remember this poem. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 25 [informant] => CodyJ [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )
