A man who is believed to have no fear
Risks his life so loved one’s shed no tear.
His duty is to save the human race,
Against the fires that leave disasters in their trace.
As I looked to him I saw an ax,
That glistened as he made his tracks.
Moved like fire crackling in the breeze,
One arm swooped up people and kids with ease.
No smile a stern look with sweat bullets dropping,
He defeated the fire by his will of not stopping.
Through each room he rescued animals from smoke,
He breathed calm watching the water make the fire choke.
Climbing to extreme heights to put out the blaze
Through all the hysteria he kept in his faze.
He was siren that let out a loud scream,
Making thousands vanquish from the scene
Water shot through his seemingly bear hands,
His eyes never left the inferno on his lands.
He’d fall into flames and brush it off his back
The smoke would blind him but he kept on his track.
Sometimes they go in and never return,
Or they’re not so lucky and end up with a bad burn.
But they never complain and they run to the next call,
They gave an oath to rescue and will give it their all.
They’re a hero but look onto them brighter,
Give them the respect of a Firefighter

A fitting tribute to firefighters. I agree, they don't get enough credit. Then again, we never give enough credit to the ones who keep our world going...the trash collectors, sweepers, that type. This poem is very detailed and the imagery is powerful...wonderful write.

I loved this write. It is so perfect in words. It is wonderful to give the firefighters respect. My hubby is a firefighter, I try not to think of what could happen to him. I just know that he loves being a firefighter. It is in his soul. Thank you once again. You write so beautifully with words of conviction and love.
