All my thoughts are frozen.
Suspended in time where noone sees
So sad, this life I've chosen.
Those who see me see an iced corpse
sleeping like a child.
They'd never guess I once was alive
With a mind where dreams ran wild.

In this foggy slumber I can't recall
When I chose to give up the fight.
It's the bitter feel of failure and loss
that binds me to the night.
These wounds, they bleed too much
for me to want to leave this room.
The salty hint of tears is my only taste
of life in this silent tomb.

I've walked so many miles in my sleep
but never made a footprint.
The spirits laugh to hear my fears
and drives into my soul a splint.
What goes on outside my box
I never care to know or see
It's a world of murder for power
and the innocent cease to be.

In a broken world sealed tight
where winter is immortal, I lay.
Waiting for my beloved to come
and take me away.
There's someone in my dreams I
can't define, a dark knight in the glow.
One who can breathe the life back
into me with fire borne of snow.

Who will come to bring this rogue
Sleeping Beauty back from the grave?
The princess corpse lies waiting for
the tune of an interlude that can save.
Frozen in sleep, even fear can't steal
the beauty of one slain
The princess corpse seeking, like a
long lost heart, the salvation refrain. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 247 [topic] => 31 [informant] => Avarice_Riot [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 19 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

I question the amount of faith it would take in this unknown dark knight to bring the silent icy princess to a world of beauty and perfection. Is not our happiness ultimately dependent on us alone in the end? Beautiful write here. Just questioning the underlying belief of a fairytale-like trust. Rita
