Spread my curtains and look out at the stars
And even when the clouds are thick
The stars are there for me
To sing to me, my sweetest, blackest stars
So speak to me, my precious comfort in the cold

When I go to bed hungry
Dusty nebulas fill the void in my stomach
And the distant distant melody puts me to sleep
And even when I’m stuffed full, I’m starving
Always starving for scraps of the future
And my sweetest, blackest stars

Sometimes I have nothing but frosty breath
To console me
To shield me from becoming too lonesome
But I crawl into my gray bed
And my sweetest, blackest stars are there
-even when I close my eyes
-even when I try not to breathe
-sometimes when I pound the wall with hard blue fists

I seldom have to call for them with salted tears
They will answer to the forsaken orbs that flow from my eyes
But mostly they know when to come
My sweetest, blackest stars will throb with my heart
And sometimes I will feel their heat burning in my bare chest
Pinpointing naked singularities with their knowledge
On my cold hard back and my blue lips

They are not with me during the day
Instead, my stars retreat back into oblivion
But distinct pulses in my purple veins and underneath my white skin
Will let them know when they will venture close to Earth

So that I never will wake up cold or hungry
And so that my eyes will never show how lonesome it can be
I will never die because they would be let into space for eternity
My sweetest, blackest stars would have nobody to warm

And my sweetest, blackest stars
Would shed crystalline orbs of their own
And they would serve for nothing except the salt
To shrivel my cold body and bury it under an ocean. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 165 [topic] => 30 [informant] => Suz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => PoemsonBeauty )

Somhow I like the second part the best, (and no! it is not because I always go bed hungry!^_^) these lines, 'the distant distant melody puts me to sleep'.. 'even when I’m stuffed full, I’m starving/ Always starving for scraps of the future'.. 'Pinpointing naked singularities with their knowledge/ On my cold hard back and my blue lips'.... this poem are truely a feast (*stomach rumbles*^_^) for the eyes and mind..... nice work....
