research stations finding out why
theoretic'ly proved without doubt that
the bumble bee simply can't fly

Because....... he has such a big body
and ever so titchy small wings
an' his legs stick out gummy and proddy
(for doing his pollen countings)

However..............the bee does not know this
and tries very hard.......and surprise,
when he keeps right on "having a go" is..................
He tries and he tries...and he flies!

P. S.
And another thing.....if they're so clever
(as bumble bees are when they try)
I'll bet their wind tunnel could never......
make honey!...from clover!...AND..... fly!

Elizabeth, I do have to agree with you. They are much smarter than the scientists. I have watched them in the hives on my farm and I have tasted the fresh honey and the honey from the stores, and the bees do much better work! You wrote a very nice poem and I am glad to see that you do watch God's nature. You can learn a lot from watching animals. Take care and I will be watching to see if you write more great poems. Rita

How marvelously clever you be Elizabeth,
Someday like your grandpa there.
You'd be posting poems and reading them on the air!
What a great testimony to the little bee.
He works hard than even you and me!
I loved your poem........and you too!
