[bodytext] => Don't you see what's in her eyes?
Do you ever look when she's not smiling?
And don't you know why she cries?
Do you ever listen when she's not lying?

She looks out the window and thinks of yesterday
She wanders, going nowhere, but she'll always stay
She breathes the air and doesn't know why she's alive
But when she reaches your heart, she knows she's arrived

Don't you even try to see
Past what she shows to who she really is?
Would you really rather flee
The ghost than open your eyes to what lives?

She hides within herself, she hides from you, from life
But she knows she won't and cannot hide from the knife
And if it hurts you, she won't say a word of it
Alone with all her scars, in silence she will sit

Why don't you see what you do?
Don't you think about the anger you feed her?
How is it you never knew
Every time she hurts she cuts a little deeper?

She takes some pills 'cause she can't take it anymore
She screams at you until she's crying on the floor
She cuts and she bleeds and it makes it go away
She wants to tell you but doesn't know what to say

You're living in denial
She'll never tell you if you don't want to care
Throw away that worn-out smile
Listen, love her, and no matter what, be there

She takes a chance, bares her soul, uncovers evey scar
Shows you every secret she's kept hidden in her heart
Her hands shake as she wonders if you'll turn away
Takes a deep breath and waits for what you have to say [comments] => 6 [counter] => 293 [topic] => 32 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

Your poem really pulled my heart strings I know what it feels like when someone doesn't care about you and they don't want to listen.

I don't know what to say, I'm really moved, this is so sad and you writing hold much pain. Hope that this tortured soul finds someone that understands her. Amazing writing! Keep it up,
Anne :D
